'GENTLE GIANT' IN SURPRISE MURDER SHOCK
A total sense of shock today surrounds Vale Park, home to Port Vale F.C, as reports suggest that a high profile and well respected fan had committed a brutal act upon a member of staff.
A body was found yesterday in a nearby Co Op travel car park, heavily wrapped in the Guardian, People, Times and Daily Sport newspapers. A post mortem has revealed that the cause of death was heavy blows about the head and upper torso by a heavy blunt object, possibly a portable radio. As yet the weapon has still to be found.
At 4 am this morning armed police swooped on the home of lifelong Vale fan and alleged life season ticket holder Eddie Jackson. Witnesses say that for some time the victim had been baiting Mr Jackson over various unfounded and potentially damaging comments in his match reports. Mr Jackson was heard saying "One day I shall give that young fellow a jolly good piece of my mind", with his wife Jean commenting "Aye, youth." After an ongoing feud it is thought that Mr Jackson had had enough and the situation had reached breaking point.
The victim, who cannot be named for reasons of embarrassment, was thought to be a high profile member of the Port Vale staff. The victim often thought that comments made by his asailant could be damaging to the long term future of the playing staff and on several occasions had expressed his dissatisfaction towards Mr Jackson and his views.
Unconfirmed reports just in suggest that the selfless Mr Jackson's grave concern is that of the future of the club without this vital cog in the framework of the company.
